Thanks for reading this! My singular focus is to perpetuate the Texan spirit of frontierism, adventure, boldness, resilience, courage, and ambition throughout our statewide venture & startup community.
About me: I’ve worked in multi-disciplinary and entrepreneurial roles for nearly 15 years mostly in downtown Austin, Texas.
A recent effort close to my heart was starting the Texas Venture Crawl. It’s a Texas-sized networking and educational experience that attracted 2,500 Texans, in 15 venues, across 10 cities, on our first try! It was an impressive effort by a 30+ person committee that also helped organize 40+ venture panelists that Friday evening… all held simultaneously on Oct 6th, 2023. It broke a record of being the largest gathering featuring the venture community in Texas history in one night.
The Texas Venture Crawl is a signature event launched and led by the Texas Venture Alliance, a non-profit I cofounded promoting the statewide ecosystem of startup support. I’m also editor of the Texas Venture Newsletter where we curate a list of investor-related events and resources for a fast-growing 6,000+ readership, published twice a month (sign up for the LinkedIn version in the Featured Section of my profile).
At the age of 32, I was also the youngest Executive Director of a venture capital association in the United States while cofounding and launching a local Austin investors club. The next year, I accepted an “Organization of the Year” award from the Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce recognizing work here in the local Asian community.
For majority of last decade, I was a junior executive in Austin’s first venture studio helping launch several early stage companies, concepts, and special projects for a handful of successful tech leaders & entrepreneurs.
Outside of startups and venture, I’m a World Economic Forum Global Shaper who spoke at Davos, a political campaign advisor & creator of multi-award winning campaigns for a few different Texas mayors, and… an IBM baby who grew up at computer shows!
